With more than 500,000 account holders, Brazilian firm Cora is growing fast. It offers innovative banking services to its home country’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) segment.

Cora provides free checking accounts, requiring much less paperwork than most banks, and enables businesses to issue payment slips and receive amounts free of charge, including regular bank transfers and instant payments.

The firm’s banking app also helps these businesses manage billing, payments, and cash flow. Its recently added credit card offer has been a huge success, leading to accelerated customer-base growth.

Cora developed most of its core systems internally and used the Pismo financial services platform, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), to integrate them with Visa and card embossers.

The Cora app is rated 4.9 on Apple’s App Store and 4.5 on Google Play. User comments across both app stores applaud its ease of use and feature richness. Cora recently received an RA1000 badge, a recognition given to companies that have outstanding customer service.
