We are delighted to announce that two projects based on the Pismo platform – BTG Pactual Banking and N26 Brasil – won the prestigious Financial Innovators of the Americas Awards, which will be delivered on 4 May during the Fintech Americas conference in Miami.
These awards, given to leaders of the respective organisations, honour financial players leading the way in transforming their enterprises and the lives of the customers they serve across the Americas. This is the second win for both BTG Pactual and N26 Brasil, which won the same prize last year, albeit in different categories.
BTG Pactual Banking
Bruno Peuker, Associate Partner at BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America, won the prize in the Infrastructure category as the leader of BTG Pactual Banking. This mobile banking app has received several awards for its innovations, feature richness, and smooth user experience.
Launched in 2021, BTG Pactual Banking provides services that range from credit cards to investments, and it offers convenient features to help users manage their finances. The retail bank allowed BTG Pactual to reach new customers and provide them with a fresh range of financial services.
BTG Pactual Banking uses the Pismo platform for back-end processing. It leverages the platform’s features for core banking, card issuing, payment processing, and other financial services.
N26 Brasil
Eduardo Del Guerra Prota, CEO at N26 Brasil, won the Financial Innovators of the Americas Awards in the Product and Service Innovation category.
N26, the pioneer digital bank founded in Germany in 2013, is currently present in 24 countries. The Brazilian operation combined the best characteristics of the bank’s European app with features developed specifically for Brazil. It helps customers organise their finances and pays attractive interest for their account balances – in addition to seamlessly performing financial transactions.
Since N26 Brasil started operating in early 2022, it has attracted 350,000 people who registered on its waitlist to become customers. The bank initially selected 10,000 people as early customers (called “N26 Insiders”), testing the services and contributing feedback for improvement. It is gradually increasing its customer base by onboarding new account holders daily.
The Pismo platform does all N26 Brasil transaction processing, including core banking and card issuing. The bank has a strong data engineering team and invests in machine learning and advanced data analysis technology to further explore the rich data it receives from the Pismo platform.
